The Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s College of Medicine is seeking an Academic Advisor to provide high-level academic support to faculty and graduate students. The Academic Advisor will require the ability to work collaboratively with an administrative team and effectively with all levels of University and College leadership, faculty, staff, and students.
This position manages all aspects of the College of Medicine Physiology and Biophysics MS and PhD programs, including student advising, admissions and recruitment, enrollment management, program evaluation, seminar program, and administrative organization and communication. Works closely with the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) to ensure the successful implementation of the department’s degree programs. Develops academic, career, and student affairs programs involving outreach to internal and external constituencies, including prospective and admitted students, alumni, and health agencies. Develops and presents workshops on topics related to student academic success.
Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field. Master’s degree in higher education or administration preferred. A minimum of 2 years of experience in academic setting is required. Knowledge of academic policies and requirements desired. Strong interpersonal, management and communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

The budgeted salary range for the position is $50,000 to $75,000. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements.
