Description
The project will focus on the synthesis of organic compounds containing multiple boron groups and on their usage in organic synthesis. The doctoral researcher will develop synthetic approaches to multiborylated molecules, investigate their structure and reactivity, and explore selective transformations of individual boron groups. The broader aim is to use these compounds as versatile building blocks for the preparation of structurally diverse organic molecules.
The work will involve synthetic organic chemistry, reaction optimisation, purification and
characterisation of compounds, and discussion and presentation of research results. It is also expected that PhD candidate will be participate in mentoring students working together in the laboratory.
Candidate profile
• Master’s degree in chemistry, preferably organic chemistry or a related field
• Interest in synthetic organic chemistry and experimental research
• Careful and reliable approach to laboratory work, with the ability to work independently and
as part of a team
• Good knowledge of English
What we offer
• Full-time PhD study, with a standard duration of 4 years
