Respected Sir,

I am writing to explore the possibility of finding a suitable scientific position in the field of Organic/Medicinal Chemistry. At present, I am working as an Associate Principal Scientist in Sai Life Sciences Ltd Pune INDIA from last Six years. Sai Life Science is a leading and growing Contract Research Organization.

I am supervising 14-21 FTEs team independently on US and German based project. I am associated with multiple FTEs and FSS projects for US and German based project for the synthesis of new chemical entities for Cancer Research. I am resolving issues for the chemistry team, mail communication with clients, conducting weekly Teleconference with US/German clients.

I had achieved my third post-doctoral research experience on an  asymmetric synthesis of unnatural cyclic Boronated amino acids utilized for cancer therapy under the supervision of Prof. George W. Kabalka at the University of Tennessee and UT Medical centre (NIH grant) in Knoxville Tennessee US (2 Yrs, 9 months). During the third postdoctoral study, I had accomplished syntheses of several boronated unnatural cyclic amino acids which can be used as therapeutic agents in boron neutron capture therapy, a cancer treatment. These compounds cis and trans ABCPC had demonstrated very promising results in studies using B16 melanoma cells (both in vitro and in vivo) when compared with the current clinically used drug, p-borophenylalanine, for the treatment of malignant brain tumors. Studies are underway for testing these compounds in the F98 rat and GL261 mouse glioma models. This research project has resulted in five publications, and one more publication is expected in the near future.

Prior to joining University of Tennessee, I had completed my two postdoctoral research experiences in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Texas Tech University, Lubbock and University of Texas Pan-American, Edinburg, Texas, US respectively (2 Yrs). During these two year postdoctoral studies, I had contributed to the synthesis of labeled and unlabeled benzoyloxysuccinimides, 2-iodo-N-pyridinyl-acetamide derivatives and alkyl-substituted succinic anhydrides which are used for protein tagging (as a cysteine-modifiers or amino- modifiers). I had experienced to work on an enantioselective synthesis of (+)-Epiquinamide and the synthesis of novel anti-cancer beta-lactams derived from (+)–3-carene and polyaromatic amines. These research projects had been resulted in the six publications.

I had been awarded the Ph. D. degree in October 2007 on a thesis entitled “Studies in Stereoselective Synthesis of Substituted Azetidin-2-ones” at the National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, under the supervision of Dr. A. R. A. S. Deshmukh. For the doctoral thesis, I had contributed to various projects: syntheses of beta-lactam antibiotics; asymmetric synthesis of biologically important compounds; and development of synthetic methodologies. My thesis research had resulted in three publications.

I had been appointed as a Scientific Guest in the group of Prof. Hans-Ulrich Reissig on a project focus on the synthesis of components of (B and C ring) of Taxol (Paclitaxel) via samarium diiodide an induced intramolecular cyclization reaction (multistep synthesis) in the Freie University of Berlin, Germany in 2002. The research work was accepted and published in the European Journal of Organic Chemistry in 2006.  

My expertise and extensive skills in synthetic organic chemistry/Medicinal chemistry would certainly valuable to your esteemed organizations in their efforts to complete teaching and projects in a timely manner.
