Researcher of Fish Diseases and Management passionate about maintaining integrity and sustainability of natural resources mainly fish and their environment either in marine or freshwater habitats to secure good quality food for a growing world population with minimal environmental impacts through:


1. Studying skin, gills and gut health of fish.


2. Studying microbial communities to unravel their functional potentials for being novel candidates of probiotics or to mine for enzymes which enhance the utilization of feed derived from plants.


3. Investigate causes of alteration to skin and intestinal barriers under stress or disease conditions making benefits of the advanced molecular techniques to study the biology of infection (diseases) at cellular and molecular scales in order to find unusual approaches for treatment applied at several points of infection cycle using preparations derived from plants, algae, microbes (metabolites) and aquatic life.

4. Making full use of the immune tolerance period in fish larvae to foster the establishment of desired microflora in order to produce high quality juveniles.

5. Identifying biomarkers to predict stress early to minimize its unwanted effects (malperformance) & correct management practice accordingly.
