About
Summary
My principal research interests include a wide range of topics related to the fields of Life Science and Biochemistry. I am a hard-working and dedicated individual with thorough experience and knowledge in research methods. I am particularly interested in understanding medicinal properties of natural plants extracts (wound healing and anti-cancer properties (Ex; Seaweeds)), cell culture experiments and animal models. These diverse fields have given me many opportunities to improve scientific knowledge and work on many research studies. I can establish myself as well developed in research and analytical skills. I am willing to accept challenges and go through intense learning processes in order to bring success to the team and the organization I work for. I strive for the highest quality in everything I do. I get on well with people at all levels and seek out new responsibilities irrespective of reward and recognition.

Education
University of Peradeniya 2016 - 2018
Field of study: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Degree: MPhil Research
In March 2016, I started postgraduate study, at Department of Veterinary Pathobiology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka that title included “Evaluation of The Wound Healing Properties of Sargassum illicifolium Species in Sri Lanka”. M.Phil. study investigated ecological interactions of seaweeds (distribution and diversity) and medicinal properties, as well as documenting; Preclinical evaluation of Sargassum ilicifolium (seaweed) extracts using in vivo and in vitro wound-repair model demonstrated enhanced wound-healing activities. Voucher specimens were collected and cells/tissues were collected for molecular investigations and for a study looking at immunomodulatory effects of seaweeds. From this work, I obtained an investigate to research that resulted in my leaving my previous experience path toward Biochemistry, Life science and Cell biology and developing a deep commitment toward a career in; wound healing of natural plant extracts, Anti-oxidant activity, Anti-diabetic activity, Anti-inflammatory activity, Anti-bacterial activity, Anti-fungal activity and Anti-cancer activity. I also began developing a network of colleagues in diverse field of immunomodulatory research that continues to this day.
