About
Summary
Scientific research in the area of biochemistry, cell biology and nervous system. Study of the modulation mechanisms of neurotransmitter release and regeneration; investigation of the transport mechanisms of ions, amino acids in cell membranes. Transport systems, the synthesis and the mechanisms of action of taurine and zinc in chemical communication and in the regeneration of the central nervous system. I have also worked on the endogenous pain modulation, cross tolerance between the dipyrone analgesics and morphine.
Positions
Research II-1 Oct 2017 - Sep 2018
Center of Biophysics and Biochemistry, Venezuelan Scientific Research Institute (IVIC)
I had the opportunity of apply molecular biology techniques, management of experimental animals (injection intraocular and intraperitoneal), determination of proteins by Bicinchoninic Acid (BCA) assay, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), analysis of chromatograms. radioligand uptake assays, immunocytochemistry and histochemistry, both in the laboratory of neurochemistry as in other laboratories where I did some internships in the same Institute. I have participated in research projects, I have written my scientific publications (of which I am first author and correspondent), I have also participated in different scientific events and I have participated in activities of internship tutoring and teaching as a professor of the subject Metabolism of Nitrogen- Biochemistry at IVIC.
Postdoc Feb 2014 - Oct 2017
Center of Biophysics and Biochemistry, Venezuelan Scientific Research Institute (IVIC)
During this work, I get familiarized with biochemical techniques to the study of transporters and receptors through radioligands, inmunocytochemistry and inmunohistochemistry assays, RNA isolation, and reverse trascription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Biology, Universidad Central de Venezuela
Trainer II Laboratory of Animal Physiology, advise students in laboratory practices and collaborate with the area professor
Education
Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas 2008 - 2014
Field of study: PhD
Degree: PhD in Biochemistry
I initiated a Doctorate in the Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas (IVIC). I initiate my degree thesis in neurochemistry area, and was about the study of taurine and zinc transporters on rat retinal cells with the Dr. Lucimey Lima in the Laboratorio de Neuroquímica. During this work, I get familiarized with biochemical techniques to the study of transporters and receptors through radioligands, inmunocytochemistry and inmunohistochemistry assays, RNA isolation, and reverse trascription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). I obtained the Tittle of Doctorate in Biochemistry in February, 2014.
Universidad Central de Venezuela 2002 - 2007
