Summary
I completed my Master’s degree in Biotechnology in March 2021 at the University of Ege in İzmir, Turkey after completing my Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering in 2017. During my Master’s degree, I twice attended the Erasmus exchange program. As such, I spent remarkable time at the National Hellenic Research Foundation, Athens in the Chemical Biology Institute, Biomimetics and Nanobiotechnology laboratory. I pursued two different projects and successfully finished my thesis there. The focus of my thesis was culturing algae under varying conditions (light, salinity, etc,) to explore its phycobiliprotein production capacity including subsequent purification of the proteins of interest. Later, I worked as a volunteer employee for 7 months and participated in a work project for protein-based nanocarriers for drug delivery. Herein, I contributed formulation steps that were anticipated to build up a binding protocol, alongside performing structural and in vitro studies. In the meanwhile, I got acquainted with fundamental DNA technologies, such as cloning.
Currently, I search PhD position to continue my research in Europe. During my PhD I would like to use molecular biology tools more and improve my skills.
