Summary

I am Bilal Maqbool from Pakistan currently working as Lecturer at Riphah International University, Pakistan. I am working as a Senior Researcher in two research groups namely: Intelligent Software Engineering (ISE) and Model-Driven Software Engineering (MDSE) at CEME, NUST, Pakistan. I am a specialist in Android Apps, Java, C#.NET and PHP Web Apps Design & Development. I have a number of research papers internationally published on renowned databases. I am a Strong team builder, leader, honesty and goal oriented.

During my MS degree I have learned a lot about research and development, it increased my interest to learn more about my domain and continue this journey. Finding problems and solving or proposing their solutions give you a positive and productive feeling that you are doing some novel and remarkable work by helping academia, industry and humankind.

I am confident that I can complete the research project, which will be given to me. In my master's research work, I designed A Novel Framework to Generate Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) Models for Real-time Systems from Plain Text Requirements and develop a tool that performs this task. Validation and verification of the framework are done through the deployment of a project with multiple case studies. I believe that these skills and experience will allow me to complete a large-scale project like a PhD effectively.

Driven by a lifelong interest in Information Technology, I am keen to continue my education in this subject and to perform my own research, which can contribute to the knowledge of the field.

My areas of interest are “Intelligent Model-driven Framework for Embedded Systems Design Automation (IMFESDA)" and “A Hybrid Approach of Model-Driven Architecture and Machine Learning for the Monitoring of Industrial Processes for Optimum Production”.

I am mentally and physically fit to go for PhD research, I am capable to work hard and continuously do research and development (R&D) without being stressed.

I did my (Graduation) BS Software Engineering from the University of AJK in 2016, Pakistan, stood 1st in my class, and was awarded Gold Medal in 2017. National ICT R&D Fund funded my Final Year Project. After that, I started working in the industry as an Android Application Developer for a few months.

Then I started MS Software Engineering from NUST Pakistan, QS Top ranked university in Pakistan and completed in 2018 with 4.00 CGPA (100% marks) and will be awarded Presidential Gold Medal in September 2019. During my MS, I was awarded by "NUST merit-based Scholarship" and did TAship (taught OOP and SD&T Labs). My MS Thesis was "A Novel Framework to Generate Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) Models for Real-time Systems from Plain Text Requirements", during my thesis I did research (R&D) to identify gaps and proposed solution. I used NLP and MDSE techniques to implement my proposed solution and developed a complete tool. State-of-the-Art statistical techniques were used to conclude results and formal verification was also conducted.

In my MS degree, I have worked passionately and published 9 International Conference papers (ACM/IEEE/Springer) in the areas of Agile, AI and MDSE. I have also submitted 5 International Conference papers (ACM/IEEE) and 2 Impact Factor Journals (IEEE), 4 Impact Factor Journals are under internal review and will be submitted soon.
