About
Summary
Protein biochemist / biophysicist. I have been working several years in the biophysical, structural and functional characterization of proteins. During my PhD I studied, among other similar proteins, Skl, a Streptococcus mitis phage endolysin with potential enzybiotic activity against Streptococcus pneumoniae. Also we designed, constructed and characterized chimeric proteins based on Skl, with the aim to better understand the role of each protein module in the antibacterial activity and to create new promising enzybiotics.
