Field of study: zoology
Degree: PhD
I have a PhD in biology with a major in zoology and a speciality in neuroscience and disorders linked to diabetes. I have taught undergraduate and graduate students for more than ten years in both public and government higher education systems.
I work for the government and am the head of the department of zoology. As head of the department, I am responsible for teaching courses, implementing the program, supervising students, and running the school. I still do research in addition to teaching. Right now, I'm working on projects at the postdoctoral level that are related to neuroinflammation, metabolic diseases, and molecular signalling pathways. I oversee research projects for BS and MS students and work with study teams from different fields.
My teaching philosophy stresses making ideas clear, thinking critically, and connecting theory to proof from experiments. I've worked with modern study methods and lab-based instruction, such as western blotting, behavioural neuroscience assays, ELISA, and cell-based assays. I think that combining teaching and study in this way lets me make a real difference in how my students learn and how my department grows.
I'd like to make a difference in a foreign academic setting that values good teaching, student mentoring, and education based on research. I would love the chance to work for your school and bring my experience, dedication, and passion for biological sciences.
