During my studies, I had the chance to participate in the Erasmus program at the University of Porto, attending courses in Portuguese [Pharmacology, toxicology, pharmaceutical chemistry I, Instrumental method of analysis, Onco-biology, and physiology].
I decided to apply for an Erasmus scholarship at the University of Porto for its quality of education and international reputation. Studying at the Faculty of Pharmacy has been a valuable experience and an opportunity to know a new country, learn a new language, meet new people and discover new academic and social environments.
The Erasmus experience has allowed achieving confidence, cooperation, and decision-making skills.

University of Urbino 2016 - 2022

Field of study: Medicinal chemistry
Degree: Integrated master's degree in Pharmaceutical chemistry and technology

Pharmaceutical chemistry and technology integrated master's aims to prepare specialists able to work in research fields and sectors connected with the design, development and production, management, and sale of pharmaceuticals and healthcare products.

During my studies, I had the chance to participate in the Erasmus program twice at the University of Porto, attending courses in Portuguese and developing an experimental thesis in English

Thesis title: Evaluation of the potential of the GC/MS technique in metabolomics studies and the detection of volatile organic compounds in wine.

The latter experience at the UCIBIO | Applied Molecular Biosciences unit in 2021 (from March to September) has improved my abilities in research, working with GC/MS and HS – SPME.
Specifically, I have participated in untargeted metabolomics studies and protocols to detect pathways changed in heart tissues, applying at GC/MS and using bioinformatics and statistical tools. I have also contributed to volatile and semi-volatile compounds quantification in bottled wine with different stoppers, applying the HS – SPME sampling technique coupled to GC/MS.

In addition, I have partaken in a paper about sympathomimetic drugs - pharmacology and toxicology, writing on the Trace amines section under the supervision of my academic tutor.
I have the opportunity to follow and assist a Ph.D. student at the AC16 human cardiomyocyte cell line, starting from defrosting until their proliferation and differentiation. The latter experience has helped me to understand general protocols for cells.
