My studies dealt with the bioelectrosynthesis of organic and inorganic compounds by relevant model and newly characterized microbes, namely Shewanella oneidensis MR-1 and and Rhodopseudomonas palustris 42OL which was found to be highly electrochemically active and capable of reducing nitrogen to ammonia via bioelectrochemical process.
