About

Summary

I am a molecular biologist with extensive training in protein biochemistry, structural biology, and cell biology, specializing in DNA replication, mitosis, and DNA repair mechanisms. With a PhD from the University of Copenhagen and postdoctoral experience at the University of Oxford, I have a proven track record in using advanced biophysical techniques (X-ray crystallography, cryo-EM) and genome editing tools (CRISPR, siRNA) to investigate protein interactions that maintain genomic stability. My current research at the University of Southern Denmark focuses on replication stress, cell cycle regulation, and chromatin dynamics, combining proteomics, imaging, and functional genomics to explore their role in cancer and ageing. I aim to drive innovative, interdisciplinary research that addresses key questions in genome integrity and human disease.

Molecular Characterization of PICH protein interacome in Mitosis
Ultra-fine DNA bridges (UFBs) have been identified as one of the threats for genomic stability. UFBs can be only visualized by staining PICH (Plk1-interacting checkpoint helicase) or BLM (Bloom syndrome protein) using antibodies. Knockdown of PICH induces chromosome non-disjunction resulting in intertwined regions of stretched DNA. We are trying to characterize the PICH protein interactome and its biological functions on UFBs during Mitosis
