About

Summary

I am a research scientist with 3+ years of experience in drug delivery research field. As a professional research scientist, my role is to ensure stability and protection for the formulation against harsh environment and major barriers while reaching their therapeutic targets.

I am creative and self-motivated individual with excellent time and project management skills, as succeeded by coordinating the whole PhD research project from start to finish on a limited budget (5000 €) and supervising an undergraduate student during his senior year research project.

My passion for scientific innovation and rich experience in biopolymer- and lipid-based drug delivery systems, led me to develop a novel multi-scale drug encapsulation system based on natural bioactive compounds.

I am a target-driven and quick learner scientist who knows how to leverage knowledge and keen to learn new techniques and methodologies to meet projects goals within deadlines, resulting in 2 first-author peer-reviewed scientific publications and Erasmus Mundus doctoral fellowship (60000 €).

Positions

Sales associate Jun 2016 - Jun 2019

Sabbagh pharmacy

✔ Demonstrated product knowledge as well as polite and friendly service by aiding customers to find the best supplement that fits their needs.
✔ Professional Sales Associate with great problem solving skills as evidenced by resolved customer complaints and negotiated solutions.
✔ Demonstrated strong organisational skills by maintaining order of shelves and items as well as keeping the store fully loaded with supplements at any time.

Research scientist Sep 2013 - Dec 2015

University of Lorraine

As a Ph.D. candidate in LIBio, I worked on the development of a new drug delivery system based on natural compounds for curcumin encapsulation.

✔ I acquired a great commercial acumen skill based on market and product knowledge as demonstrated by the successful development of shea butter solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) stabilized by non-ionic surfactants by using mixture design methodology, resulted in the development of a new drug delivery system based on natural and no expensive compounds without using any toxic solvents.

✔ I developed strong leadership skills and experience managing professional research projects, as demonstrated by supervising an undergraduate student during his senior year research internship and managing the whole PhD project from initiation to close on a limited budget ($5000).

✔ I am knowledgeable innovator with expertise in biopolymer and lipid-based drug delivery system as evidenced by the development of a novel multiscale drug encapsulation system, based on natural bioactive compounds.

Research internship Feb 2012 - Jul 2012

Lebanese University

As a part of a team working on the delivery and metabolism of hydrophobic active substances in animal models, I worked on the encapsulation of cucurbitacin E in liposomes by using ethanol injection technique.

✔ I demonstrated strong creative thinking and analytical skills by the development of cucurbitacin E loaded egg yolk phospholipid- based liposomes drug delivery system with high encapsulation efficiency (85%), which was the first study had ever done on the encapsulation of cucurbitacin E using the ethanol injection technique.

Education

University of Lorraine 2013 - 2015

Field of study: Biotechnology and Food Process ( Drug Delivery)
Degree: PhD

The aim of my research project was to formulate a vector can: carry a hydrophobic active molecule, resist to gastric conditions, and allow a controlled release in specific conditions. We successfully developed a multi-scale drug delivery system composed of nanoparticles loaded with a bioactive molecule which are carried out in biopolymer-based microparticles. These systems were charactarized with many different techniques such as XRD, DSC and DLS.

Lebanse University 2011 - 2012

Field of study: Bioactive molecules
Degree: M.Sc
