About

Summary

Process Chemist with expertise in analytical, organic, and polymer chemistry; process optimization; and experimental design. Skilled in developing novel chemical processes, optimizing production workflows, and leveraging programming for statistical analysis and automation. Passionate about research and development in applied chemistry.

Positions

Process Chemist Nov 2022 -

Newcut Inc., Fathom Digital Manufacturing

As a process chemist for Fathom Digital manufacturing I am tasked with supporting the Chemical Milling Division (Newcut Inc.). There I lead a small analytical team to ensure that all chemical process controls are in place and as consistent as possible. Additionally, my role requires me to engage in research and development of novel etching solutions for a wide variety of metals and alloys. In my R&D approach I employ my knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE), statistical analysis programming (Python, VBA), Inorganic Chemistry, and Polymer Chemistry to push the boundaries of science for a previously over-looked manufacturing industry. My key achievements so far include:

  • Development of a Cyclic Stripping Voltammetry system for diffusion kinetics and trace metals analysis in cupric and ferric chloride based etchants.
  • Development of a novel etchant for nickel-based superalloys (inconel 625) which incorporates a novel phase-transfer catalyst in the reaction mechanism.
  • Planning and execution of both RSM and Taguchi DoE to deepen understanding of process variables.
  • Creation of a large-scale data analysis program based on python to streamline the project management process for 70,000+ unique production jobs.
