During my Master years, I was able to get involved as a volunteer in a hospital laboratory at the Molecular Biology Compartment, where I was able to write my dissertation thesis "Molecular methods for detection of SARS-CoV-2". I learned how to proceed with an RNA extraction and how to work with a PCR for virus identification. I was also able to work with my colleague to write an article about " Inhibitory activity of essential oils on Escherichia coli".

 My Bachelor thesis  was entitled "The use of plant extracts to inhibit the growth of Campylobacter coli bacteria". I studied for this thesis as an Erasmus student at the AGRI-FOOD AND BIOSCIENCES Institute, I was able to increase my knowledge in the field of microbiology and acquired new skills in carrying out practical work for research, such as cell cytotoxicity assay, infection assay to determine autoagglutination, fluorescence microscopy to visualize Campylobacter attachment and invasion to human epithelial cells.

The main aim of the work was to determine the inhibitory properties of a drug called Auranta, used to inhibit Campylobacter coli bacteria.
