About

Summary

Postdoctoral Fellow with a demonstrated history of working in cancer biology. Now Trying to understand: what goes wrong which leads to Type-2 Diabetes, Molecular mechanisms of Glucolipotoxicity, ER stress, Mitochondrial redox state in health and disease.

Positions

Postdoc Fellow May 2018 -

Institute of Experimental and Clinical Research (IREC), Pole of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition, Université catholique de Louvain

As a Postdoc Fellow at UCLouvain, Brussels my main research interests are studying the molecular mechanisms of pancreatic beta cell dysfunction in type 2 Diabetes.

Postdoc Researcher May 2016 - Mar 2017

RIKEN Centre for Sustainable Resource Science, Riken

As a Postdoc Researcher at RIKEN my research interests were studying the the role of eIF5A post-translational modifications i.e. Acetylation and Hypusination. During this work I found that eIF5A plays important role in HIF-1α stabilization in hypoxia (BBRC 2016). I also found that eIF5A hypusination has an important role in mitochondrial metabolism (Unpublished).

Lecturer Dec 2010 - Sep 2012

Biotechnology, University of Malakand

Teaching courses of biotechnology by utilizing appropriate teaching, learning, support and assessment methods

• Undertaking marking, assessment and examination work and provision of timely feedback to students

• Conducting laboratory sessions

• Laboratory equipment and stock maintenance and ordering consumables

• Record keeping of consumables and reagents
