About

Summary

Myself Mohit Sharma originally from India.  I have done Masters in Bioinformatics from India and at present I am in Poland doing PhD in structural Biology. I will soon (in March 2021) be graduating from Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology, Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland. Throughout my PhD journey I focused on refining my skills in the field of Structural Biology and Bioinformatics. I am keen on applying the problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills I have honed in my undergraduate studies to contribute to your research group. I have developed strong research and analytical skills from the research projects undertaken during university.

My PhD work is on design and production of artificial protein Cages. These artificial protein cages have wide applications in medical biotechnology and can be used as Drug delivery Vehicles. I am working with TRAP protein and in the lab we are making a TRAP protein Cages toolbox (cages with different size, shape and symmetry). With TRAP protein we are producing artificial protein Cages and  characterizing these cages by Cryo-EM technique. I have a bachelor’s degree from University of Jammu, India with a background in biology and Masters degree in bioinformatics from Padmashree Dr. D.Y. Patil University, Mumbai, India. Moreover, I have finished a 6 month industrial project in Singapore. I was involved in the work entitled Cleaning data for bio-medical text-mining that included development of specialized dictionaries at Institute for Infocomm research (I2R) (A*Star, Singapore) w.e.f September 2005 to March 2006. During this period I assisted the head of Knowledge Extraction Lab. Prof. Vladimir B Bajic. My experience includes managing projects by planning the details and timelines, keeping in-depth documents of the projects and by ensuring all projects meet the requirements set forth by the grants. I also have lab experience with extensive knowledge of the tools and procedures used in the industry.

In addition to my academic skill, I am a well-organized, detail oriented team member with excellent analytical and problem solving skills. I thrive on new challenges and my innovative approach to systems and improvement along with a desire to learn.I have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. I adjust to changing environments quickly and have the ability to work on multiple projects efficiently. I also have excellent communication skills along with the ability to write and give presentations to explain the results of the research and to work efficiently with other professionals.
