Education
The University of Haripur 2020 - 2022
Field of study: Allied Health Sciences
Degree: Master's
I completed my Master’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from one of the top-ranking public sector universities in Pakistan, where I developed a strong academic foundation in molecular biology, immunology, microbiology, and clinical research methodologies. During the program, I gained extensive hands-on experience with both wet-lab and computational tools that are essential for modern biomedical research.
As part of my academic training, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, on a specialized bioinformatics project titled “AbAMPdb: A Database of Acinetobacter baumannii-Specific Antimicrobial Peptides (2024)”. This project involved data mining, sequence analysis, peptide characterization, and database development for pathogen-specific antimicrobial peptides, and our work was successfully published. This experience strengthened my skills in biological data analysis, literature mining, sequence annotation, and scientific writing, while also exposing me to real-world applications of bioinformatics in combating antimicrobial resistance.
My Master’s thesis, titled “Investigation of the Correlation Among Immunological Markers for Dengue, Malaria, Typhoid, and COVID-19 Concurrent Infections,” focused on analyzing complex clinical datasets to understand overlapping immunological responses during co-infections. This research enhanced my expertise in data interpretation, statistical analysis, biomarker evaluation, and infectious disease biology, along with strengthening my ability to work with multi-parameter datasets.
Together, these academic and research experiences have provided me with strong analytical abilities, familiarity with computational tools, and a solid understanding of host–pathogen interactions. With this background, I am motivated to contribute to bioinformatics-based human microbiome research, particularly in areas involving microbial diversity, host immune responses, and clinical data integration.
Skills
I possess strong computer skills ranging from basic to advanced levels, with hands-on experience in a variety of software tools commonly used in biomedical, pharmaceutical, and bioinformatics research. My expertise includes:
PyRx for molecular docking: Skilled in performing virtual screening, ligand–receptor docking, binding affinity evaluation, and preparing molecules/proteins for computational analysis.
ChemDraw & Chem3D: Proficient in drawing chemical structures, visualizing 3D conformations, generating molecular properties, and preparing publication-quality chemical diagrams.
Pharmaceutical and computational chemistry tools: Experienced with software used in drug design, molecular modeling, sequence analysis, and biological data interpretation.
Bioinformatics tools and databases: Familiar with peptide analysis, sequence alignment, data mining, and database creation through my research project at NUST on Acinetobacter baumannii-specific antimicrobial peptides.
General computing: Strong command of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), data presentation, scientific writing, and research documentation.
Programming exposure: Basic understanding of computational workflows and data handling in biological research environments.
These skills allow me to effectively analyze biological datasets, perform molecular modeling tasks, and support research activities in bioinformatics, microbiology, and drug discovery.
