About
Summary
Parwez Ahmad's current research interests include the characterization of microRNAs from Ixodes ricinus and their potential roles modulating host cell immune system. After B.Sc. in Biotechnology and M.Sc. in Genetic Engineering, he worked on different projects in India and the Czech Republic. Last year, he completed Ph.D. in Biochemistry (Topic: Molecularly guided radiotherapy based on micro RNA profile in head and neck cancer patients).
Positions
Postdoctoral Researcher May 2021 -
Immune cell-based therapy for blood cancer. CAR NK cells and their potential use as cancer therapy for blood cancer as well as solid tumors.

Czech Academy of Sciences, Institute of Parasitology
Characterization of microRNAs from Ixodes ricinus and their potential roles modulating host cell immune system. Investigation of combinatorial effects of highly expressed tick miRNAs on the host targetome, in order to answer several questions: How different tick miRNAs may target vertebrate host genes in the same host homeostatic pathway? and how the expression of a given host gene may also be regulated by more than one saliva-specific tick miRNA? The final goal of the project is to identify candidates for designing drugs specific for immune-related disorders.
