About

Summary

Senior Research Scientist at Collins Aerospace in Cork, Ireland. I am a member of the Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) team of the Applied Research & Technology (ART) centre.

My work focus on research on optimisation techniques to solve multidisciplinary engineering problems in aerospace (internal and European funded projects), project management, mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers / researchers, and intern supervision (M.Sc. and Ph.D. level).

My research interests are in the area of optimisation, constraint programming, multidisciplinary design optimisation, floating-point arithmetic, and software verification.

I hold a PhD in Computer Science from Université Côte d'Azur (defence was September 8, 2021). The title of my PhD thesis is "Floating-point numbers round-off error analysis by constraint programming".
The contributions of my Ph.D. mainly consist of an adaptation of constraint programming to error analysis and an algorithm to rigorously enclose the round-off errors.
This algorithm relies on methods from global optimization, constraint programming, local search, and test to compute sound bounds of errors.

Keywords: optimisation, constraint programming, multidisciplinary design optimisation, floating-point arithmetic, software verification.

Floating-point numbers round-off error analysis by constraint programming

  • A new constraint programming method to represent and to reason on errors produced by programs over floating-point numbers
  • An algorithm to search for the maximum error (i.e., the greatest error produced by a program). It computes an enclosure of the maximum error: the lower bound is reachable and the upper bound is a sound over-approximation
  • Implementation of contributions in a prototype constraint solver (based on Objective-CP)
  • Scientific publications in international and national conferences
  • Talks in international and national seminars

keywords: constraint programming, floating-point numbers, round-off error, error analysis, constraints over errors, optimization
