About

Summary

I am actually looking for a Postdoc opportunity in Biochemistry or Biology fields. I have geographic availability. I have a strong background in cyanobacterial research since I have been working with the cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 as model organism for the last six years. I completed my Ph.D. dissertation entitled “Interaction between cellular redox state and nitrogen metabolism in cyanobacteria” on 6th July 2017. During my Ph.D. work, I have managed techniques of molecular biology (DNA and RNA extraction, mutagenesis, qRT-PCR, Northern-bot analysis, Western-blot analysis, etc.), proteomic analysis including Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE, reducing and non-reducing conditions, among others), protein purification by FPLC, Electrophoretic Mobility Shift Assay (EMSA) for detecting protein–DNA interactions and metabolite determination among others. I have also got experience in protein interactions in vitro assays. Moreover, I have also developed some analytics techniques, among others, for fluorimetric metabolites determination.
On the other hand, during my studies I worked internally in the university as Master´s student in which I had the opportunity to work with other model organisms such as C. elegans or E. coli, so although I have never worked on cellular cultures or mouse, I consider that I can adapt quickly to work with other biological systems.
At present, I am interested in starting to work in a place where I could acquire new skills related with my professional profile. I am a really enthusiastic person and I would like to continue learning about different analytic techniques and other model organisms.
