About
Summary
I have recently finished my PhD, which was focused on the pre-clinical validation of molecules that interfere with the p53 pathway in human cells and animal models, and am currently looking for postdoc positions.
Positions
PhD researcher Jan 2014 - Sep 2019
LAQV/REQUIMTE Laboratory of Microbiology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto
I have developed a PhD thesis focused on the pre-clinical validation of molecules that interfere with the p53 pathway in human cells and animal models. I have developed several techniques including recombinant protein production in bacterial systems, development of yeast model systems for screening of small molecules, analysis of cell cycle, apoptosis, gene and protein expression in human cells, co-immunoprecipitation, and chromatin immunoprecipitation.
Education
Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Porto 2014 - 2019

Field of study: Biochemistry
Degree: MSc in Biochemistry
Thesis title: Studying p53 family proteins: search for small-molecule modulators
Supervision: Lucília Saraiva, PhD. Assistant Professor, Faculty of Pharmacy University of Porto.
My Master's thesis focused mainly on the development of yeast model systems to study and screen for pharmacological modulators of p53 family proteins.
Faculty of Science University of Porto 2008 - 2011
