About
Summary
After completing a degree in chemistry and a biomedical master's degree at the University of Alcalá (Madrid, Spain), I started my PhD in chemistry in 2017 at the same University.
I have done most of my scientific training in NANOBIODEN research group, under the direction of Dr. Rafael Gómez Ramírez and Dr. Jesús Cano Sierra. My research focused on the design and synthesis of dendritic systems (polymers) with biomedical applications, as anticancer or anibacterial agents. During this training I have had the opportunity not only to develop several skills in managing NMR, organic and inorganic synthesis, inert working conditions for unstable reactions, different isolation and purification techniques, but also to perform by myself different biological assays with bacterias, cancer cells, siRNA, erythrocytes or immunoglobulins.
Furthermore, as an international PhD, I have also had the opportunity to work in other laboratories, such as the microbiology laboratory of the Technical University of Dresden, the laboratory of pure sciences of the University of Urbino or the biophysical laboratory of the University of Lodz.
During doctorate, I have also carried out other tasks such as collaborating in the direction of students, giving practical classes to students of pharmacy and environmental sciences and participating in scientific dissemination projects.
My short term goal is to do a postdoc abroad where I could use everything I have learnt during the doctorate and further training as a researcher.
Positions
PhD student Mar 2017 -
The main goal of my thesis is to design and synthesize a new type of nano systems, named dendrimers, bearing different metals in their structure with therapeutic properties, such as antimicrobial or anticancer.
