Positions
Journal Editor Jun 2025 -
My duties as a Journal Editor:
1. Editing Equations and Statistical Analysis: Ensuring they are presented clearly and correctly.
2. Reviewing Technical Terminology: Ensuring the correct and consistent use of field-specific jargon.
3. Working with Figures and Tables: Checking that they are clear, well-labeled, and support the text.
4. Ethical Adherence: While not responsible for the content's validity, a good editor will flag potential issues like plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or ethically questionable language, often advising the author to address
In summary, think of publishing a paper like selling a house for my agency (the journal/conference):
My First Hat: The Home Stager (Manuscript Improvement). I received a house (manuscript) that an owner (author) wants to sell. My first duty is to clean it, paint it, and advise on repairs (edit for language, clarity, and formatting) to make sure it meets my agency's basic quality standards and is presentable for buyers.
My Second Hat: The Real Estate Agent (Peer-Review Management). Once the house is staged, I then act as the agent. I list the property, identify and invite potential buyers (peer reviewers) to conduct inspections (provide critical feedback), collect their reports, and based on their assessments, I ultimately make a recommendation or decision on whether the agency should buy/publish the house.
